Ginormous cookie at Donna Bells Bake Shop
Donna's Bake Shop is a tiny little bakery/sandwich shop in Midtown. And there are plenty of other places online where you can read about their cute story or whatever. I don't care what their story is. It's not that damn important honestly. If you do your reading, it seems that some of their goods straddle the line between quantity and value, which is to say some consider their goods overpriced for what it is. I, however, did not run into the the value problem when I saw one of their chocolate chip cookies last week.
As you can see, the cookie is ginormous. It's big enough to be a mask if you just poke some eye holes in there. The problem with humongous cookies is always the same - it doesn't have any of the defining characteristics of a great cookie. It's just kinda average and wasn't special in one way or another. Some people like 'em thin and crispy, some like it soft and gooey like at Levain Bakery. Some folks like them City Bakery style. Some just like cookies, all kinds of cookies, like me. If you gave me a bag of Chips A'hoy, I'd be all over that shit like Herman Cain on a white female employee. Then when you ask me where all the cookies had gone, I'd deny the shit out of it. Word.
So not only is the cookie wide, it's thick as well. There's a joke in there somewhere... somewhere! All this is to say that the cookie is very filling. Again, another 8th grade joke in there. Fuck. You easily could have this cookie for a meal.
Is the ginormous chocolate chip cookie at Donna Bell's Bake Shop worth $2.50 (pre-tax). Yes, it certainly is, as long as your expectations are in line with reality. The fact is that past a certain size, a ginormous cookie just doesn't even taste like a cookie anymore. It's like a not-so-rock-hard bisccoti. It's great if you want a cheap lunch. Not so great if you an unforgettable cookie.

My first reaction was "Holy crap!", followed by "I want one". Giant cookie + less than $3 = happy girl

wow bro, that's the first thing that came to mind for me too. How can I poke holes in this cookie to use it as a mask. Besides, everyone knows quantity has a 1:1 correlation with quality...

@AJ,
word, the price to quantity ratio is very good here. I was very surprised when I saw the cookie for the first time too.
@Nicholas,
haha yea that's the natural thought when the thing is that big. That would be a great cookie monster mask. Edible too...
