boulangerie-beaumarchais

Boulangerie pâtisserie Beaumarchais

Yes, more France posts! At some point, New York related posts would be more essential, but I realized that it doesn't get much traffic if I visit places that are really well-known or places that have been open far too long. So in the end, I might as well just write without much concern for traffic. Since there's no concern for pageviews, I could just keep talking about Paris and bore most of my local viewers. That is OOOOKIE DOKIE! On we go...

needle-exchange

One Saturday or Sunday morning in Paris, Steph and I decided to check out the farmers market by the Bastille. It's personally amusing because I could see the same kind of thing in New York and not give a damn. In Paris though, walking through the farmers market is akin to going to a peep show. The excitement! The atmosphere! But before we went to the market we went to eat some pastries. On the way to the pastries we passed this thingy that caught my eye. It's like uh... a needle exchange. I think I saw this last time in Paris, but the amazement is eternal. We don't have this in NYC do we?

So the boulangerie in question is called Boulangerie-patisserie Beaumarchais. At least I think that's the name. It's the only bakery that I saw that ever had a line out the door. Most bakeries, people just stroll in, ask for their bread or pastry, and they're out in minutes. No, not this one. You wait ten minutes because the bread be awesome and everyone wants some.

pain-aux-raisins

Steph got the pain aux raisins, which as you can see is the curly raisin bread. This was surprisingly good. Steph told me she got this instead of croissant or pain chocolat because even though those two things are good, it's just way harder to get good pain aux raisins in New York. If I had known how good this was, I woulda had this too.

pain-chocolat

I of course, got the pain chocolat. This is the best thing for breakfast. I love that it's full of layers, very flaky, and delicious. If I could live next to this bakery, that would be really awesome. It's a shame that I have no skills for languages and am stuck in New York. Although I hear apartments in Paris are even smaller than here in New York, so maybe living next to a baller bakery is not the best.
