Not the best Princess Cake in New York
It's come to my attention that google is changing the way they rank pages. And it's also come to my attention that people like to search for "best [insert food here] [insert city here]." So it is with that, I shall insert words like 'best' or 'top' into every post. Even if it's not true, like this particular one. Let's see how long I can keep that up! That's the world that we live in today. We let google tell us what is good or what is not good. But "Best Princess Cake New York" in google actually brings up results for San Fran! Fail, google! FTL! That's okay though. The most convenient place to get a princess cake or Prinsesstarta is at AQ Kafe in Manhattan. This doesn't mean you should actually go out and get it. It kind of sucks compared the Ikea Princess Cake.
Now why does the AQ Kafe princess cake kind of suck? Well they are dry. You can tell that shit just ain't fresh. I don't know how fast they can move the product but freshness in cake sort of matters. Cakes are like fruit, the fresher the better. If you let that cake sit in the fridge for too long, it'll get dry and stale. It's not that the AQ Kafe princess cake was stale, it's just that it was like the Sahara. Just kidding. You could tell it wasn't fresh. They do a good job of masking the deficiency and the lack of product movement because the cake is generously lined with cream. Perhaps the cream is supposed to make the cake more moist. But the same effect is achieved when you pour sauce and super dry meat or something.
So that's it for my Best Of, Tops list. Places to get Princess Cake in New York? Number one, Ikea. Number two, AQ Kafe. This list is incredibly authoritative. This list is so bespoke it would make the skinny jeans of a Williamsburg hipster just light up on fire. Did you hear me? I said, fire. That's it. This post was not about food at all. Fuck you.
