Give me hot dogs or give me crackling
Not quite as dramatic as, "Give me liberty or give me death." Give me hot dog or give me crackling! Maybe that should be my motto or something? Such an over simplification of things... And today was also the Gay Pride Parade. I only caught the tail end of this years' parade but I have seen it in the past. If you want to watch it with a raucous crowd, try to squeen in by Christopher street. Best way is to camp out on top of a telephone booth... you just hoist yourself up by standing on one of those trash cans and then you could see everything super clear. I think this works for all parades in NY...
Yesterday I also got into an interesting conversation with Patrick and Eric. And maybe some of you can chime in too. You know what parkour is? (wait before I go on, no mom, I am not doing this. Relax, breathe.) Well here is the idea. Here in the subways in New York, there are stations where you have [platform] [track] [track] [platform] and there are two tracks between platforms. However, sometimes there are stations where you have [platform] [track] [platform] [track]. The discussion was whether you could jump from one platform to the next.
Some of your obstacles include the fact that each platform is not that wide therefore a lot depends on your pure jumping ability. And the other problem is what are you going to do if you miss. haha. Ok maybe that is not funny if you miss. We also talk about stupid things like, "If you see a fifty dollar bill on the tracks, would you jump down and grab the money?" Clearly, my friends and I have too much time on our hands while we wait for the subway. Also it is clear that we are deranged.
Anyway, what do you think? What do you think about when you wait for the subway or bus with your friends?

You could totally make it on the IRT. The BMT/IND would require super skills like those guys have. Even if you fell short, you could hold on and pull yourself up. And if you do it near the end of the platform, then they have little ladders that you can just climb back up! I've always wondered what it would be like to be on that center platform at 59th St!

That parkour video reminds me of a French movie that came out in the last year or two. I can't remember the title of it though.

mmm, hot dogs. D'Artagnan has pork, beef, buffalo, and duck hot dogs at the FF show. I keep going back and eating them. They are delicious. And I typically wonder where the other people are going, and make up stories about them in my head.

Ang, you mean District B13"?
And i totally think you could make it down and back again, the tracks aren't that deep...

man u are on a hot dog streak ... and u mentioning gay parade makes me wonder lolz.
hey i have jumped platforms before, i forgot where i think it was near Queens somewhere. Man those were the good ol days being all mischevious and all lolz. I would go pick up a $1 if it was right there and climb right back up from where i jumped off. if worst comes to worst u can hide right below the edge of the steps.
I've been looking at Improveverywhere.com's missions. They are funny as heck. I plan to attend the next one in NYC. Wanna get together? No Pants 2k9 is a must, you with me son?

Justin,
Let's do it!!
Steve,
Son, last time you came to NY you stiffed me! What is up with that?! haha. Hmm.. in Queens? I think the flushing stop is do-able but the trains come so often there...
