Pump it up
One of my former supervisor was this extremely jacked dude. He was a very smart guy and always watched his diet, and he was one of those guys that probably started working out when he was eight. One day I asked him where to go for lunch and he mentioned The Pump Energy Food. I waited forever to try it out because dude, it costs ten dollars for a big plate of healthy goodness. They use no butter at da Pump and no fried foods either. How good could it possibly be?
The dish that I tried was called The Diesel, and it appealed to me because it was one of the cheaper options under their "Super Charged Plates". It is grilled chicken with vegetarian chili and brown rice. At almost exactly ten dollars with tax included, this was one of the more expensive lunches. My rationale for this was that if you could look diesel after eating The Diesel, then hey, what is a few extra dollars??
If you go, be sure to call ahead because they quoted a 20 min wait time for pickup. I assume this is because they only grill the chicken after you order it. Good sign because pre-prepared chicken is often dry. After you pick up your food the first thing you notice is they really pack a lot of food into the container. Me likey. Then I tried the chicken, which was cooked right and not dry at all. These folks know how to properly grill chicken.
The vegetarian chili left me hanging because it is vegetarian. I do not know how else to put it because chili needs to have either meaty flavor or at least a lot of spice. This chili did not have either. I ate it and it was fine but Obama's chili sounds so much better. The best part about this lunch was that I only had half of it the first day and it served as leftover lunch the next day. Ten dollars for a two day lunch that will make me look diesel? Hell yea.

OMG I order Pump at work all the time, and ::weep:: I eat the whole order in one sitting ^_^...perhaps I need to start exercise portion control, yah? They're pricey, but at least you feel semi 'clean' after eating the food there. The muffins are alrighty, but avoid the 'cookie w/ designer protein' all all costs! :)

I'm sorry but that does not look appetizing

Kathy,
Oh I think eating the whole thing in one sitting is totally brillant. I would do it except they are pricey. And I will heed your advice and skip the cookie! Thanks!
Ang,
Hahahaha. okay

OMG I used to order the Pump all the time because it was in the basement of my old building. I can't remember exactly what it was called, but I used to get something that I vaguely remember being called the buffalo dynamite pita sandwich or something of that sort. It was actually pretty delicious, but yeah, way too expensive for every day lunch.

I've eaten from there, they screwed up my order and I didn't realize until I was back at my office. So the next time I went, I asked the manager for extras and although I got them, they forgot something else and it took them 5 minutes to figure out what was going on and give me my food.
But it wasn't too bad, although I would never touch the protein fortified desserts. Give me real food please.
