Great NY Noodletown
My experiences with Great NY Noodle Town used to be restricted to late night dining. They are open until four, and the restaurant is packed if you walk in at 2am. If you go at that time, usually you are trying to uh, increase liquid in-take and noodle soups become the natural choice. During my latest visit, I remembered Ed Levine mention they had good BBQ. I decided to give the spare ribs and shot, and what a great move it was.
The ribs at Great NY Noodletown are heavenly. They outside of the ribs must be finished with a honey glaze or something because they are sticky sweet as you bite into them. The meat is tender and moist, and it is really easy to sit there and go through a plate of ribs in five minutes because they are that addictive. You do not even need rice.
We also tried a chicken and Chinese sausage casserole, which was really delicious. The chicken was cooked just right, which was important. And the chinese sausage was a great compliment because everything goes well with chinese sausage. If you go to Great NY Noodletown, give this a shot too.
It has actually been a while since I have actually had the noodles at noodltown, but I do not remember the noodles to be exceptional. For my money, Super Taste is still the place to go for noodles.
I am curious, has any of you gone to Chinatown Brasserie for dim sum before? Oh but do not bother going to their site, I just added the link so you know which restaurant I am talking about. Any site that pre-loads music to play is GARBAGE. Yuck. You know what else is garbage? The fish from my local grocery store because I bought some the other day and now the apartment is being assaulted by a flagrant odor. My olfactory nerves need resuscitation. Gah!

While I'm not a rib eater myself, that second dish looks really good! Definitely adding this to my new list of great late night Chinese spots!

Ang,
Yea definitely get roast meats if you go!
Miss Menu,
If you are not a rib/pork eater, then roast duck might be a good alternative. It seems that places that can do one type of roast meat really well can also do the other types.
