Food in Mouth

cinnabon-classic

Cinnabon goodness at the Rockefeller Center

Tourists in New York always puzzle me. I know there is heavy resentment from some residents that tourists just clog up the sidewalk and they walk too slow. Since I am prone to stop in the middle of the sidewalk at times, to snap up a picture, I do not have much beef with that. That and tourists pump in an inordinate amount of cash into the local economy. I was walking along fifth avenue on Sunday and saw this line to go into a store. This was maybe three in the afternoon. "They must be selling Wii's or something," I thought to myself. Upon closer inspection, it was an Abercrombie & Fitch store. Really, why come to New York to go to the A&F store? It is always interesting to see what tourists are into. After fifth ave, I was down in the Rockefeller Center and there were people in Starbucks, Dunkin' Donuts, and Subarros. The Cinnabon store? No love. Zero. And since I am all about giving out love, I went and gave Cinnabon some and bought one.

At three bucks and change, I kind of thought the cinnabon classic was slightly over-priced, but I was famished from navigating through human traffic in the Rockefeller Center. They also have a kind with pecans on top but I stuck with the original. There were a few other random newer stuff that I had never seen before too; nothing that was deemed a must get item.

The cinnabon itself was delicious. Cinnamony-y as Emeril would say, and probably too sweet but heck, I dug it. Actually I wanted more frosting. It has been a while since the previous cinnabon, therefore it was difficult to say whether it was the same as other Cinnabons (though I venture to say yes). You might want to drink something with the cinnabon though, I ate it straight up and was left thirsting for a coffee or something.

  • This is complete torture for me to look at today! I loved cinnabons when I was younger, but hadn't had one in years. I can't wait to eat again...:(

  • Ang,
They will find ways to make money without Emeril, I am sure.

    Alicia,
I loved cinnabons as a kid too, I even remember the first time I ate it in a mall. Hope your appetite comes back soon
