My Wok
Howdy kids, we have another guest post today! Jonathan chimes in with a story about his shiny new wok! In case you missed it, last time Jonathan talked about cupcakes! Read on to find out more about his stir fry!
The sun had started to set as I walked into the kitchen and hardware store just off Wentworth. The store was cramped and kitchen tools were piled and packed into the small space. Metal shelving divided the space into narrow claustrophobic aisles. Along the right wall, heaped from floor to ceiling, were the woks. Staring at the multitude of woks I thought, "this is why I am here; to find my wok."1 comments. Posted on May 14 2008 at 5:25 pm

kim bap that feels homemade
Sometimes I feel such a let down when transitioning from one blog post to the next. Alas, I did not drop this lunch item on the ground, it all went hygienically into my stomach. Nothing to see here! The first time I encountered this myserious thing called kim bap was a few months ago when I had to kill time around k-town. Actually I was waiting for my friends to belt out Sweet Caroline and hunger got the best of me (as it always does.) And I knew Zach of Midtown Lunch was a fan of Woorjip, but somehow I ended up two doors down from Woorjip, at this place called E-Mo Kim Bap.

Gravel cupcake and Pinisi
Oh I have got a story for you. I was on a multi-stop food trip and the first stop was at Pinisi. All my blogging friends are big fans of Pinisi. Robyn, Kathy, and Tina all like this bakery. My expectations were sky high. I walked in and requested a single red velvet cupcake and paid 4 dollars for it. I was kinda shocked at the price tag, but this is my life. Not yet ready to eat a cupcake at the time, therefore I carried it in the plastic take-out container and walked towards the Lower East Side (LES). After buying something else and having dessert in both hands I was ready for my quest. Here was where it started to go all wrong...

Mothers day edition of Sunday Haiku
Welcome to the Mother's Day edition of the Sunday Haikus. Happy Mother's Day, mom! As y'all can see, today the haiku is extra special. Actually the food edition of magnetic poetry does not have the word 'mom' in there, but I made it in photoshop, that is why it looks slight blue-ish. Just focus on the good part of this magnetic poem. I apologize for being lazy about blogging this week, but tomorrow I will try to give you a good one. It is about a cupcake... so stay tuned. Some of you already know what it is going to be about, and do not spoil the surprise. After the cut we have some pretty flower pictures also for the Mother's Day occasion.

Big Bowl Noodles
You know, I think if you just plop a Chinese restaurant in Midtown Manhattan, people will be there eating during lunch. Quality of the food does not seem to matter. The thing is, I do not think you need to be a Chinese food fiend (like myself) to be able to understand if it is good or not. You will know if you like it. Big Bowl Noodles is a decent place for lunch, but it does not come close to unseating Szechuan Gourmet as my favorite spot. As a quick and filling substitute, Big Bowl Noodles is a decent choice.
