Talking about 2009

2009 is coming to a close today and a wise oracle called 'google' tells me that folks are busy not reading food blogs this week. This is good news. Folks are mostly not working, the subways are empty, and today the streets are paved with white powder. I just want to end the year with random pictures from 2009. This year started off with weekly haiku posts so I figured it was good to close the year with an old one.

Since this is a food blog and some of you readers out there probably have weight loss resolutions like me... here's an interesting article from the WSJ. Basically the article talks about how it's difficult for people to keep track of lots of things. And that if you make lots of New Year's resolutions, it becomes more and more difficult to keep all of them. It's taxing on your brain to focus on too many things sometimes. The article even talks about how stressing the brain will make you more likely to cave to sweets and alcohol.

So the bit of advice I'd like to part with today is that if you, like myself, want to lose some weigh this year... try your best to think of things other than food. It's hard... I know... and also try not to sweat the small stuff. Granted, life is all about the small stuff. One last shout out to my man Jonathan. Congrats on being an uncle. Also shout out to baby Evelyn and her happy parents Greta and Chad.

To everyone, Happy New Year, and delicious fooding in 2010.
