Thanksgiving 2008 part 1
Thanksgiving is upon us again! I guess after the previous post, I'm going to simmer down for this one. It's easy to go on a diatribe against people who drink haterade against blogs. The rants will have to be suspended at least for a week due to the gracious and kind nature of the Thanksgiving holiday. This year I got to have a pre-Thanksgiving day meal because Justin and Janice were gracious enough to host it and cook the turkey for everyone. And then I get to go home for a Chinese Thanksgiving on Thursday. It really is the best of both worlds. I would have taken more pictures of the dinner but hey, why take pictures when there's that much good food on the table?
And during the dinner, there was a story about Bobby Flay. Apparently Korwin got to sit next to Chef Flay on the airplane on the way down to Austin. At some point on the airplane ride, Flay pulled out a red crayon and wrote to Korwin, "I am Bobby Flay. This is what I would do if I ruled the world: challenge you to a throwdown! with airline peanuts!" Ok, so I made the last part up, but he was on the airplane with Bobby Flay who was actually just editing a menu or something. But I had to do the blogger thing and deliver some fake news just to see if you're reading.
The dinner ended with us digging into an ice cream turkey. It kind of brings it all full circle. Speaking of cool things like ice cream cakes, I want to tell people about Canstruction that's going on right now until December 8th. It's going on at the Winter Garden at the World Financial Center. You're encouraged to bring canned goods when you go and all the canned goods go towards City Harvest.

you left out the part about the melon vodka.

HAHAHAHAHA I was like OMG so Flay IS a buttface! I'd have chucked all the peanuts at him and said this is an interactive display of peanuts, I WIN! 20 pts for creativity FTW! Ooh... err... yeah.
So I know someone whose birthday is very near Thanksgiving every year, and one year, his wife got him a turkey ice cream cake for his birthday cake. Umm... yeah, he wasn't happy. lol.

@wonders,
hahaha, no. the story didn't delve into the type of writing tool, just that he was working on something.

Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday! I'm so excited that it's almost here.
I used to have magnetic poetry on my fridge too but lost it when I moved. It was always fun for guests to tool around with in the kitchen!

@maris,
It's one of my favorite holidays too! Any holiday where food is the big deal is alright with me :) Happy Thanksgiving!
