Random soup
Are you familiar with the phrase, "Comfortably bad?" No, of course you have not because I just made it up. See, I am trying to help you get a better understanding of why I eat the crap that I cook even if it does not taste good. On one hand, wasting is such a shame. And along with my friends Eric and Jei, we used to have this rule of always finishing our food in college, because we were poor, and because what would a starving kid in Africa say about these rich Americans throwing food away?! FOOD! (I understand that line of thinking might offend some people, but that is too bad. You can leave.) So whenever I make something that turns out not to be good, these days I just tell myself that is is comfortably bad. There is something nice about eating something at home, and even if it is no good, as long as it is not super bad then it is okay.
Since I eat a lot, and sometimes vegetables are not always in my meal, I get into these moods where my mind just screams out for vegetables. Or maybe it is my body that screams, since my body is at its all time heaviest. Oops. Maybe more vegetables would be a good idea.
One day I decided that it would be a good idea to just throw vegetables into a pot of something and call it a soup. Yea, sure, of course that will work without problems. Haha. Actually it tasted semi-ok. It was not an outright disaster, but somehow I expected soup to be more comforting. Instead it was merely useful to fill me up and serve as a decent breakfast.
Basically it was a tomato based soup that had vegie chunks in it. Really the taste was healthier than a canned soup from Progresso, but next time a recipe is definitely necessary.
So I mentioned to my friend Steve that I am super heavy now, and he replied back with
"Moooooooooo!"
Awesome. Tomorrow is Friday!Posted by Danny on May 1 2008 at 11:06 pm

haha, I know... It is more fun to say that though. Actually that is a different Eric this time. I should differentiate between the Erics. And yes, we should all get food sometime!
