Food in Mouth

Sausage McMuffin

About two minutes after this picture was taken, something unfortunate happened. I tried to take a better picture of the hash brown, therefore I pushed the sausage mcmuffin aside. Maybe all this food has made me too strong because the sausage mcmuffin flew off to the edge of the table and was danging there. In one hand was my camera and in the other was the wrapping to the mcmuffin. A smarter person would put down the camera and rescue the sandwich. An idiot would try to do it all with the left hand and then watch in horror as the mcmuffin fell to its demise on the floor of the McDonald's. Sure, some people have the five second rule. But this was the floor of a fast food chain. You really have to be crazy to do that. So this picture of the mcmuffin is merely a replica of the one that actually went into my stomach. I had to buy another one after all the pictures were done.

McDonald's started this dollar menu thing for breakfast this year. I'm kind of glad they did because normally I don't eat their breakfast. No offense to McDonald's but when I do the math in my head... I can almost buy a box of cereal for the price of a hash brown + sausage mcmuffin. And cereal lasts for days, unless you eat it dry in front of your computer for lunch. Then it lasts like, for two lunches. Anyway, the hash brown is awesome here because the crispy-to-innards ratio is pretty high. Sure, this probably had crazy amounts of saturated fats. Sure this probably has some hidden transfats. Sure, some world famous chef could probably make better tasting versions. But for $1, find me something better. I do know Burger King has good hash browns too though...

Sausage mcmuffin is really one of those great food items out there. It's McDonald's and it doesn't taste like shit. Seriously, they don't need no Justin Timberlake commercials or any crazy ads during the Super Bowl. If they just changed their slogan to, "We are McDonald's and it don't taste like shit" then I think they'll gain some street cred. Wouldn't you agree?

  • @Su-Lin,

    Oh man, juicy hash browns is not where it's at... I really haven't had bad experiences with the McDonald's Breakfast. That hash brown is always good to me.

    @Jessica,

    Yea dropping the camera is never an option. haha. My friend Patrick and I joke that if we're ever walking down the street with our DSLRs, and we trip... then it's always better to use our faces to break the fall rather than to use the camera.

  • I was so nervous reading this....I thought you were going to drop the camera...

  • That hash brown does look good! My last one was had at Gatwick airport and was soooo greasy it was almost "juicy". Ugh.
