Flaming hot cheetos with lime
Update: Many of you might happen on this page looking for product information about Cheetos. You can find that at Frito Lays. If you want to buy cheetos products online, try Amazon. May I continue with my love of Cheetos now? :)
I love cheetos. When they came out with Flaming Hot Cheetos, I was impressed. It tasted even less like 'real cheese' which the bag says they use. The color of each cheeto also turned from neon orange to bright red. I look past these things. You can't scare me with manufactured color. Ain't no one keeping me away from cheetos, because that shit is awesome. The one day someone told me, "You know they have flaming hot cheetos with lime, right?" Uh... what? Flaming hot cheetos with lime? Apparently they sell this all over the United States except in New York City. What is up with that? So when my friend Jen was in Illinois, I asked her to pick up a bag for me to test out. Come on Frito-Lay, stop making it so difficult for a cheeto lover to get his faux-cheese fix.
Cheetos is something that is kind of a perfect food. You can get the crunchy or poofy kind depending on what you like. It's made out of corn which I like. And it's got that 'cheese' flavor which is great on junk food. If it doesn't look so damn unhealthy, people would probably eat it more.
The flaming hot cheetos basically takes away some of the cheese flavor and adds spicy flavor. Really, it's more spicy than spicy cheese. In fact I wonder if there's any cheese on it at all. It's always bright red and actually kind of spicy for a bag of junk food you can find at a normal supermarket. You wouldn't expect such a nice kick from junk food but flaming hot cheetos does it right.
So they go and mess with perfection by adding lime to the equation. I'm glad they did because it's even more delicious. It's a spicy lil corn crunchy with a hint of lime. It's like when they added lime to tostitos. Really, more junk food companies should add some lime to their stuff, it just makes things taste better.
I can totally see myself opening a bag in front of the TV right before the start of the NBA Finals, and then looking down to see the bag is completely empty when the game is over. Sure, not so healthy... but it's awesome! I wouldn't actually do that though, because you know, it's not healthy. But man.. flaming hot cheetos with lime. When the hell are they going to sell it in New York City? Huh? Frito-Lay? Stock them in Duane Reade or something.
Yes, I know if you read food blogs you probably aren't a fan of junk food. And you might be too caught up in the minutia of the difference between a foodie and a food enthusiast and a food lover. And you probably think fake cheese on a corn puff is nasty. But yo... I love it! I'm just trying to spread the love. If you prefer to eat you know, healthy stuff, that's cool too. It just means more flaming hot cheetos with lime for me! (If they would just start selling this in NYC...)

I love Cheetos! They're great! I'll take them skinny or fat. Regular or spicy. Straight or curly. I don't care. I just eat them. I love them for what they are. If I wanted real cheese, I'd have real cheese.

I think everyone already knows my affinity for Cheez Doodles (preferred) and Cheetos (I'll eat them but I like the crisper texture of Cheez Doodles and YES I DID JUST TALK ABOUT THE TASTE DIFFERENCE of junk food) lol. I tried those Flamin' Cheetos before, thinking 1- it's American how spicy can it be 2- it's prepacked junk food how spicy can it be and they were way too spicy for me. So totally agree on the spice thing. And yes, I don't understand why certain junk food flavors take so long to come to NYC!
PS Adding lime to everything doesn't make it better, case in point: BUD LIGHT WITH LIME WTF??? Ok I don't drink beer but it just sounds wrong. Thoughts?

@Hungry,
Yes! If one wants real cheese, there's real cheese available out there!
@Melissa,
Glad to know there are others out there!
@Yvo,
Bud light with lime? Is it like the Miller with lime? Because that's tasty. Seriously. It's just like U.S. Corona with lime already injected into it. It's pretty tasty in the summer time.

Another interesting thing about flaming hot cheetos is its affect on your poop. Don't be surprised if it turns red.

I've been in LOVE with flaming hot cheetos for a long time and I used to ask my friend in Washington DC to pick me up a few bags. I've seen them being sold in more stores in NYC but flaming hot with LIME? Seriously, they need to make a move to NYC ASAP!

I haven't drank enough Miller to be able to compare it to anything, but I've had enough Bud Light to know that it doesn't taste like Corona enough that adding lime would be like an American Coronoa with lime... Bud Light tastes like watered down barley-hops-alcohol. Hahaha. Adding lime can't be good. But now, in the interest of fairness, I'll seek it out to try. Ugh.

Shoot, our kids would rather be paid for chores with any kind of hot cheetos than money any day!
I myself like, Chester's Hot Fries.
On a side note, I teach community cooking classes and someone brought up Hot Cheetos. A lady then shared with me that she takes the medium size bag of hot cheetos and adds 1 packet of ramen noodles to the hot cheetos bag and then adds just enough really hot water to moisten, rolls the bag back up and lets it sit for a few minutes and eats it and says its delish! I looked at her stunned and asked her where she came up with that. Her reply "while in jail". Oh okay.
We have yet to try that delicacy in our home.

It affects your digestive system -.-. One time in second grade I had hot cheetos for breakfast. Bad idea. I thought I had started my period, my teacher even looked at it. But today, I ate some hot cheetos a couple hours ago, and my stomach had this instant pain. So I rushed to the bathroom to be on the toilet for a while. Turn out that my poop was red, and it left my butthole burning. IDK why it burned. Probably because it flaming hot fries.... But if you eat some with a sandwhich, don't worry about this. I had a snapple, some hot fries ($2 bag), a red candy apple, a chicken sandwhich from whataburger, a dr.pepper, some trolli gummibears,cherrybombs, and fruity o's. ALOT of junk food... I won't do that again, trust me! But, its not worth it not unless you want your chest to be at your knees on the toilet. Don't do it I say! Expecially not for breakfast!

They sell them in small packages in Nebraska but you have to buy a variety bag of chips and I always eat the cheetos with lime ones. Wish they would sell them in those big individual bags...
