Homemade almost cuban
The thing to do after you have a bowl full of roast pork is to eat roast pork sandwiches. And since I am one of those weirdos that like bastardized versions of things, you know like McDonald hamburgers or Wendy's Chicken nuggets, it seemed like a great idea to make a bastardized version of a cuban. Without a press, and real bread, there was no way my sandwich was going to be anything like a real cuban sandwich. All the parts were there though, swiss cheese, pickles, roast pork, and ham. It was okay tasting but maybe next time I can make a Chuck Bartowski sandwich (Turkey. Muenster cheese. Egg bread. Grilled). What? No Chuck fans? No one else likes a show where a computer nerd helps to save the world? You do not know what real television is!
Anyway, back to the sandwich. It was a little dry and I was not sure what to do to help it. Smother it with cheese? I actually tried this three days in a row because there was that much roast pork. Mustard? Makes a big difference. A toaster was a good substitute for a sandwich press, although I could not be completely sure since there was not a pressed sandwich to compare.
What would I do differently next time? Hmm.. I would make better roast pork. That is obvious. I like even not-great roast pork, as these little nuggets of goodness can serve as an alternative to popcorn. You know, if you like meat-popcorn. Always add more cheese and toast it to make sure it is melty and gooey. I do not know how else to make it slightly more moist really. If you have any ideas, please feel free to share.

It is too much meat and not much vegetable. It is not a healthy move. Sorry!

I actually plan on competing in the Biggest Loser competition on NBC. I have to prepare and eat lots! Ok, not really. I ate 5 oranges after the sandwich though.

Hi Agnes! Thanks for stopping by. I am glad you like the chilies. The other night I was at a Korean restaurant and I saw these folks just chomp down on a huge chili, no problems. Ate it like candy. I need to learn what the secret is to that!

Yeah, I was at a restaurant with my Korean friend and he chomped on chilis, no problems. So I was convinced that it wasn't hot and boy was I wrong. I only took half a bite and couldn't taste the rest of my dinner. The secret is to just be Korean.

Yea Jen, I do not know what the secret is either. Those Koreans are no joke, they can eat chilis with the best of them.
