Pork chop makes me happy
Usually at home I just eat whatever. A good example of 'whatever' is pork chops. They are super easy to make, all you have to do is just put salt, pepper, and then any kind of spices you want. Put oil in a hot pan, put piggy on the oil, and then wait. I like to put garlic powder, cumin, and paprika on there, but you can just go with salt and pepper really. My whole thing is that I have these huge costco container of spices and anytime that any spices can be put to use, I use it.
Colder weather would dictate that it is time to eat heartier foods and leave summer salads behind. If you go to Central Park here in New York though, you find that flowers are blooming while leaves are turning color. Wha??? Hey Al Gore, help me out here. How does this work?
Anyway, back to the pork. I read somewhere that if you move the meat around in the pan a lot, it gives it time to build a crust without burning it. Well, my success rate was moderate. The picture at the top was the first side which was not moved. These next two show the side where I moved it lots. Crusty - great on pork chops, bad on underwear. eww..

I love the picture of fall leaves. And I like the idea of putting some wonderful pictures among pictures of food, and it is just like you put some spices on food.

Cailin,
That is good because pork chops are so awesome. I mean, scrumtrulescent.
Lili,
I will try to add more pictures of non-food objects.

Have you ever tried using OLD BAY seasoning on your pork chops? Crazy delicious! What's this pork chop place you speak of??
Marina on October 31 2007 at 3:19 pm
Marina,
Old Bay seasoning? Hmm.. cannot say that I have tried that one. Part of the problem might be that I do not even have that in my kitchen... gotta work on that one. Do you add anything else along with the old bay seasoning?
Danny on October 31 2007 at 3:37 pm
I always use kosher salt & cracked pepper & paprika (for color) and Old Bay!! Old Bay is cajun style seasoning. It has all the good stuff like garlic powder, paprika, cayenne pepper, etc. I love seasoning the heck out of my pork chops & frying them up. I know that Costco sells Old Bay seasoning & you ought to pick it up on your next visit or just buy it from any supermarket. What's the pork chop place you mention. Spill it! please...

Marina,
I will spill it soon! Next week! It's called Excellent Pork Chop House. With a name like that, it just has to be good. They do Taiwanese style pork chops though, which are not quite the same if you stepped into a restaurant that served New American fare.
